Love for My Pets

Doc and Brady are my new adopted kitties. The boys are brothers and were both found on the side of the road in the town where I am from. They have a sister but she was not up for adoption at the time I adopted the two boys. Brady is mine and is named after Tom Brady of course. And Doc is my boyfriend’s and he is named after Doc Holiday who is a famous gunman.

The Ring

The-Ring-movies-75295_1024_768 2The movie the ring does a lot of contrasting with lights. Often the scenes have a black versus white/light appeal. The perspective of the movie is looking in on a bunch of different people who all watched this film and were told “seven days” foreshadowing they would die in seven days. For the lighting, the movie almost seems to be a bit drab and dark. It’s not quite fully lightened scenes; it’s almost like a misty view. The background of some scenes have a lot of shadows and creepy things. Some scenes have dark trees and mountains in the background while other scenes have just typical days.

I do not take that many pictures often and when I do it’s either of my kittens, niece, or boyfriend. And they’re not very scenic pictures, it’s just in the moment pictureIMG_1539s with little or no effort. I don’t try to capIMG_0434ture any kind of feeling or focus on anything particular so I guess I am not very successful at feelings or meanings in pictures. To improve my photography skills and after reviewing those sources, I could pay more attention to light and backgrounds. Also, I could try to capture more feeling and meanings in the pictures I take of people and things.

Weekly Showcase

Gory Collins here and I am here to tell you about an event hat occurred last night. As mentioned earlier, I thoroughly enjoy walking through cemeteries. Last night on my latest venture, I noticed five other figures in the shadows of the tombstones. I approached the figures cautiously trying not to spook them. The five figures were standing in a circle and I became curious what was going on. The figures turned as I approached and they greeted me with glares and grumbles. The first person present was REPSAG, who is an average girl but has not true appearance. The next figure was Eve Winters. That Eve has an odd resemblance to BloodyFace.. Next was La Noir, who was a very mysterious woman. Then there was Edward Creeper, the name says it all. Finally, HeadReaper who might as well have Edward Creeper’s name. The six of us looked down into a grave to discover it was empty. It is going to be our mission throughout the semester find the missing body.

Weekly Summary Week 3

This week was not as challenging as the previous weeks in my opinion. I enjoyed learning what a host character was and coming up with one of my own. The writing assignments were tough and I found it difficult to come up with a couple things but it wasn’t too awful. My favorite part was the daily create today. It was funny to think of the different things I could come up with if you only change on letter in a title. I also like Vonnegut’s explanation of a story and the video because I thought he was super funny and goofy about the subject. Organizing my blog wasn’t hard but it wouldn’t let me see all my options when trying to add posts to different categories so that got frustrating fast. I tried to do this week like I have been doing the past weeks but taking it step by step and that seems to be working out pretty well.

Host Character

My name is Gory Collins. I was born in Nebraska in the woods. My mother and father went missing when I was seven so I was raised by my great-uncle and second cousin. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and eating brunch with different tombstones. At night, I sing carols to my mirror while I drink hot tea. This will be my first narration of a show and I can’t wait to have all of you spooked by the end. Enjoy.

Watching TV for Homework

This writing assignment caught my eye because I just recently started the Grey’s Anatomy series after finishing One Tree Hill so I figured I had to do it! :)

Grey’s Anatomy is a series that captures the life of surgeons and interns becoming surgeons. Throughout the show, the cast is seen inside of the hospital and in the surgical rooms. Rarely in this show do the extras talk but every now and then one of the other surgeons in the operating room or in the hallway will make a comment to one of the main cast. The acting skills are hard to tell because they do not say much or have much acting to do. Extras in the background of the scenes are often just seen walking around or in conversations with other people. What they wear in this show doesn’t really have much to do with who they are, main or extras. Everyone is seen wearing scrubs and usually of the same color if not another pastel color. Depending on the location of the scene, that will determine how many extras can be seen at one point in time and who is talking. The extras in Grey’s Anatomy vary in ages depending on what role that character has. Nurses tend to be younger actresses and surgeons tend to be older looking males. Parents or random people walking around vary in ages.
